The Blues Brothers

When I saw The Blues Brothers about ten years ago, I thought it was hilarious. I laughed all through the movie and some of its famous scenes remained fixed in memory. When I saw the movie a few days ago, while I thought it was interesting, I didn't see why I laughed so much the first time.

The Blues Brothers has a novel plot, great acting, a great soundtrack, and some cool cameos (which include James Brown, Aretha Franklin, and Ray Charles). The plot is about two brothers, one of whom just got out of prison, who decide to reform their old blues band to save the orphanage where they grew up. Dan Aykroyd plays Elwood Blues and John Belushi plays Jake Blues. Between Jake's release from prison, and his eventual return, we see a lot of comedy, car chases, car crashes (apparently the biggest number of cars crashed in a single movie), and general mayhem.

The movie has become a cult-classic, which is why I decided to check it out again. Unfortunately my experience wasn't as good as the first time, but if you've never seen it before I definitely recommend it!
